Innovative Manufacturing For A Unique Insulation Material

You see it all around at home, in the office, in manufacturing, and in all forms of transportation everywhere. Fiberglass insulation is used in home appliances such as dishwashers and ranges; in business settings for acoustical tile and office dividers; as thermal insulation in all types of buildings, and to minimize noise in manufacturing processes; and in trucks, trains, buses, planes, and automobiles for thermal and acoustical control.

Today, fibrous glass insulation can be found in more than 50,000 different product applications—amazing, considering its relatively short 60-year history. Actually, the reasons for this are quite simple.

Fiberglass—The Ideal Insulator—Is...

An inorganic insulator, with low thermal conductivity. It is sound and energy absorbent, and fire resistant, unlike foam which will support combustion.

Chemically inert, non-corrosive, and will not accelerate corrosion on steel or aluminum. It will not rot, nor support bacterial growth or fungus.

Biologically inert, safe to work with and handle, and presents no long term health hazards.

Economical, because there is no shortage of raw material (silica sand) for the manufacture of glass fiber. Since fiberglass is non-petrochemical, it promises to remain available at stable prices.

But perhaps the most important considerations for today's designers are its light weight and design flexibility. Fiberglass is supplied to us in fluffy, wool-like blankets or rolls (similar to that used in construction) impregnated with various thermosetting binders. We can mold it into virtually any contour, thickness or density your design may dictate. Insulation is also available in sheet stock, which we can die cut.

We Offer Two Manufacturing Techniques

Convection oven, which uses low-cost tooling, is ideal for non-cosmetic insulators such as underhood panels, engine enclosures, or other severe duty applications. We can supply these products with a wide variety of surface treatments such as heat resistant rubber, or, for the ultimate in extreme duty protection, high-temperature reflective coatings.

Compression molding yields the ultimate in high-quality structural and cosmetic insulators. We can achieve higher densities and apply various surface treatments which are either structural, cosmetic or both. Foil for example, can be applied in a process where the part is formed, faced and cured in one operation. A variety of attractive vinyl facings can be applied in a similar manner. After forming, the panels can be trimmed by die, saw or waterjet.

Over the last 30 years, we've produced numerous OEM products, and are justifiably proud of our ability to produce "difficult" designs those requiring deep compound curves, structural rigidity, or unusual surface facings.

Our commitment is to explore new applications for our fiberglass insulation products, and continuously refine our technology. We can help you design and develop practical, efficient insulation for your products, and follow through with innovative manufacturing techniques to assure you'll have high-quality, line-ready parts that are economical, and delivered on time or Just In Time.

We'd like to talk with you - to show you the advantages of fiberglass insulation products over those you may be using or considering. Please call or e-mail us for prompt attention to your needs. We're here to help you!
